What's the reason for this site?
Welcome to my project site dedicated to the ultimate pint-sized workhorse: a 1997 Daihatsu HiJet Super Cab! As a passionate Kei truck owner, I’m using this space to document the entire journey of owning, maintaining, and upgrading this rare, right-hand drive extended cab mini-truck. Follow along as I tackle everything from essential mechanical fixes and DIY wiring to installing custom comfort upgrades like a secondary lithium battery system for off-grid air conditioning. It’s an ongoing build log for enthusiasts and owners alike!
This is where I will plan and execute repairs, fixes, and upgrades to the 1997 Daihatsu HiJet. This one is particularly unique as it is a Super Jumbo cab. Having a Super Jumbo cab is going to be beautiful because there is so much more room in comparison to the standard cab. Standard cabs do not have any additional cab space or room behind the driver and passenger seats.
